LeatherHEAD START provides:
Emergency, direct access, short-term accommodation for homeless men and women over the age of 18; Accommodation for one established couple; 24 hour support; Individual key-working; Learning Development programme, tailored to individual needs; Referral and resettlement into move-on accommodation; A tenant support service after resettlement in the community
The Pitstop works very closely with LeatherHEAD START and runs a Welfare Benefits Surgery at their hostel every Friday morning (click here for address and opening times)
Respond is our local NHS Drug and Alcohol agency service, offering specialist assessment, support and treatment to people who want help with their regular drug use and to those who are highly dependent on alcohol and want to stop drinking.
The multi-disciplinary team consists of doctors, nurse specialists, substance misuse specialists, recovery workers, counsellors, care managers, social workers, a carers’ liaison officer and administrators.
All are highly experienced at helping people affected by drug and alcohol misuse and their families.
The Pitstop has a good working relationship with Respond and we regularly refer clients into their recovery programme and liaise with the service on ongoing support for clients.
SAdAS offers help and advice on all issues surrounding drug and alcohol addiction, as well as support groups and email counselling.
SADAS provides an outreach service (ISIS). The Pitstop has a close relationship with the team, making referrals for alcohol and stimulant users where clients will have access to 1:1 counselling and groups.
Possible direct access to the SAdAS Reach Out Project which provides 1:1 and group support for families and carers of alcohol and drug users.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income.
Foodbanks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK.
The Pitstop can refer our clients to the local foodbank and issue food vouchers in cases of emergency.
SDAC is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, manned confidential help line giving support and information to drug and alcohol users.

The shops sell mainly second-hand goods donated by the public. Customers will find a whole host of bargains and collectables plus a variety of fashions, bric-a-brac and other household items.
The Pitstop has strong links with our local shop, in Leatherhead, who regularly help us find clothes and items at short notice for those in desperate need.
The Surrey Reuse Network aims to find new homes for unwanted furniture and kitchen appliances, and offers a wide range of good quality items at affordable prices.
The network is made up of local charities who all aim to support local communities, families in need; as well as offering training and employment opportunities.
